Here at the KAW Foundation, we are deeply committed to supporting the well-being of students in New Jersey schools. Our dedication stems from believing every child deserves access to resources that foster their mental, emotional, and physical health. We collaborate with various organizations to provide a host of  comprehensive services.

Counseling Sessions

In-depth individual or group sessions addressing specific issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. These sessions, led by experienced licensed and board-certified counselors, can provide coping strategies, emotional support, and therapeutic interventions tailored to students' needs.

Interactive presentations that cover managing stress, understanding and coping with anxiety, and developing resilience. These sessions can be tailored to different age groups and provide practical tools for mental wellness. Go to the Our Impact page to learn more about the interactive presentations.

peer-led mental health support programs

We offer partial or full sponsorship of Teen Mental Health First Aid. This instructs students to learn how to support their peers who may be struggling with mental health. This includes "how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders among their friends and peers". We also offer partial or full sponsorship of Challenge Day.

Teacher Training Programs

Comprehensive training for teachers and school staff to better understand mental health issues, recognize signs of distress in students, and integrate wellness practices into their teaching methods.

Pet Therapy

Sessions where students interact with animals to help lower stress and anxiety levels. These activities can foster a nurturing environment and provide emotional comfort to students.

ARt Therapy

Creative arts programs where students express themselves through painting, drawing, or sculpting. This form of therapy can aid in emotional expression, self-discovery, and stress relief.

music Therapy

This therapy leverages the transformative power of music, allowing students to engage in activities like playing instruments, singing, or listening to music. It's an effective tool for emotional expression, improving communication skills, and fostering social interaction.

wellness events

We sponsor and/or partner with organizations to bring mental health wellness events for students and parents. Additionally, we coordinate and participate in these events.

Through Active Minds, a mental health based organization, the KAW Foundation will assist a middle or high school in the implementation of a mental health chapter.

internet safety & cyberbullying expert presentations

The KAW Foundation funds internet safety & cyberbullying expert presentations for students in middle and high school.

Yoga Classes

Regularly scheduled yoga sessions designed to enhance physical health and mental well-being. These classes can focus on mindfulness, stress relief, and building a sense of community among students.

Each service contributes to a holistic approach to student well-being, addressing emotional, mental, and physical health in a school setting. For more information, you can visit our partner's websites:
